Student Jobs

DCWorks, a student may be required to meet the following requirements:

• Be a Canadian Citizen or permanent resident and meet the Ontario Residency requirements as defined by OSAP
• Must demonstrate financial need
• Returning DC Students must have a full-time student term G.P.A of 2.0 from their previous term to meet the academic requirement
• Must be enrolled in a minimum of 60 % of a full-time course load in a post-secondary program at Durham College
• To apply student must complete a Durham College Student Financial Profile for the current academic school year

IWorks program:

• Must be an international student
• Must hold a valid Study Permit
• Must be enrolled in a full-time post-secondary program with a full-time course load
• Must maintain a GPA of 2.0 to remain eligible for the program (GPA will be reviewed at time of application and before the start of each new semester)

Please note the following:

• Approval for IWorks does not guarantee an on-campus job.
• The IWorks program is open until the funding limit has been reached.
• Maximum hours per week may vary for iWorks based on funding and departmental needs.

To apply for a part time job on campus, you must be approved to participate in the DCWorks or IWorks Program.  To apply for the program, go to My DC > Financial Aid and Awards > Self-Service Links and follow these steps:

• Under Financial Aid and Awards, click on Self Service Links
• Click on Start My Application
• Click on Apply for Student Aid
• Select the Aid Year
• Click Continue
• Select Durham College Work Study Program or International Work Study Program
• Complete and Submit the appropriate application

Once your application has been reviewed you will receive an email to your DCmail advising you whether or not you have been approved for the program.  Your approval email permits you to begin submitting resumés to prospective employers.

This category will also list legal updates to keep employees informed on information that may pertain to our organization. Please note that some training listed may only pertain to certain staff, please read the descriptions to find out if a particular training will pertain to your role.

To access the modules, please use the weblinks listed below and login using your Banner identification number (starts with ‘1’) and your postal code. Once you have completed a module, an update will be automatically logged into the Human Resources’ training records on Banner.

Durham College offers a Summer Employment Program for returning students during their summer break. To be eligible for the Summer Employment Program, you must:

• • Have a GPA above 2.0
  • Be currently enrolled as a full-time student in fall and winter semester
  • Be returning to Durham College as a full time student in the Fall
  • Be a domestic student (Canadian citizen)
  • Be receiving OSAP or demonstrate financial need.

To apply for a summer job on campus, you must be approved to participate in the Summer Employment Program. To apply for the program, go to MyDC > DC Financial Aid and Awards > Self-Service Links and follow these steps:
